Meet Ashley, Owner & Creative Director

Floral artist Ashley Hotka owns Kansas City's Good Earth Floral Design Studio. Her love of flowers started at the very young age of 3, when she would explore the world of floral tape and ribbons while she watched her Grandmother design fresh flower bouquets. Later in life, her first job was naturally as a floral designer, quickly working her way from beginner to lead designer. After seven years, Ashley followed her passion for all things bridal by opening the doors of her very own wedding floral design studio in 2008, and quickly became known for her gorgeous bouquets and unique eye for design. Good Earth Floral has continued to grow to include an amazing team of talented and renowned designers, specializing in luxury, customized, timeless, lush and romantic weddings as well as an attentive client experience. 

Ashley wanted to make it simple and effortless to bring beautiful designs to weddings of all sizes and budgets. With that dream, Collections Floral Design Studio was created! Offering that same romantic and timeless style that Good Earth Floral is know for, Ashley and the Good Earth team are now able to bring lush, gorgeous blooms to more couples throughout Kansas City!

Good Earth Floral Design Studio has been featured on Queer Eye Season 3, WE TV's My Fair Wedding with David Tutera in the 2011 season premiere episode as well as in several wedding publications such as The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Elizabeth Anne Designs, Her Life, KC Magazine, Perfect Wedding Guide, Borrowed and Blue and KC Weddings. Good Earth Floral has also been awarded Best of Weddings 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 and Wed KC Florist of the Year 2020, 2023 and 2025. Ashley lives in Overland Park, Kansas where she enjoys spending time with her loving and supportive husband, Steven, and five sweet, playful sons, Finnlan, Sullivan, Rowan, Madden and Lochlan.

When you're ready to talk about wedding or event flowers, Jessica is the expert! With a rich background in years of owning and leading her own planning and design company, Jessica knows how to combine creative thinking with logistical planning to create events that are authentic and custom to your story. ⁠⁠

Jessica is a vibrant creative spirit and has a zest for all things design and people. Her passions shine through in her love for interesting flowers, unique fashions, local music, and the feeling of rushing joy she gets when coming up with the perfect personalized idea for our clients that really brings the *wow* factor! ⁠⁠

Don't be surprised if you run into Jessica all around town! She is a social butterfly with a deep love for the Kansas City community and all things KC sports, music, food, and social. On off days in the summer, you might catch her enjoying a weekend at Tablerock Lake with family or walking around her sweet little, long hair dachshund Daisy in her beloved Westside neighborhood. ⁠⁠
